Now I have fully grasped the concept of 3D anaglyph photography I have decided to make my work personal. I was doing work based on abstraction in three dimensions, however I found that I reached a limit where there was nothing personal to it.
I started to think how can I make my work personal and this is when I discovered ‘Art Brut’ or otherwise known as ‘Outside Art’, where self taught artists work spontaneously without influence from the outside world. These artist generally have some form of mental illness.
This was very intense to discover as I suffer from bipolar disorder and decided then to work spontaneously but then also to use what I have learned to perfect a kind of self portrait of my mind. To put my emotions onto canvas and my mental state and then digitally manipulate the images to create a final image. These all show different mental states. This image shows me on a particularly good day and slightly manic, however look at my other images and you will get a different sense of the pole changes in moods.
Okay so I thought it was time I tried something new and different. I have mastered the use of 3D anaglyph photography and wanted to step it up. This is a trial to see if the 3D effect could be used with mirroring. I see some potential but form and and editing would need some touch ups. New project? Why not 🙂
So my proposal for Stour Valley Arts project is over, very satisfied with my final outcomes.
Looking into environmental art is also very inspiring and the use of renewable energy should be important. An interesting statement I read was this: The reason the sun is not used as a source of energy more often is because the oil companies do not own it.
Pop art video by the most influential photographer to me William Klein, far ahead of his time, and the use of light and sequencing to take advertising to an artistic level is inspiring. If only I could have 5% of his talent.
Love this video, it needed to be shared.
Made a decision to use untreated reclaimed sleepers, no damage to the environment and reusing what is already there without doing more damage.
Looking at nature once again, the sun comes out and the flowers bloom. The joys of photosynthesis.
